Why do website visitors leave without making an enquiry?

A homeowner visits your website late on a Sunday evening. They browse your bathroom ranges, read your about page, and then they leave. No enquiry. No phone call. No trace. You never knew they were there.

With a standard chat widget, they might type a message — but if no one is online, it sits unread until morning. By then they’ve already filled in other firms’ enquiry forms. The follow-up email arrives the next day, to someone who has already moved on.

The problem is not just the missed conversation. It is the complete absence of anything to follow up on — no name, no number, no record that the visit ever happened. That is what IBIOS web chat will fix when it launches. Every visitor who chats will become a named lead, with a full transcript, before the AI closes the window.

IBIOS web chat for UK trade businesses is coming soon and is not live yet. IBIOS is made by IBIOS Limited (NI743167), Northern Ireland; access is by waiting list and there is no free trial.

What IBIOS web chat will do (coming soon)

Six things your website chat should already be doing — and probably isn’t.

Captures leads naturally

The AI will ask for name, email, and phone over the course of the conversation. No forms. No interrogation. Just a natural chat that turns anonymous visitors into named leads.

Knows when not to quote

For bespoke-quote businesses, the AI is designed not to give a price. When a visitor asks “how much?”, it aims to steer them to a showroom visit or a booked callback instead.

Sends a summary after every chat

When the conversation ends, the visitor will receive an email with a summary of what was discussed, what was agreed, and what happens next. In your brand voice. From your email address.

Returning visitors pick up where they left off

When a known visitor returns, the AI will load their prior conversation and continue from where they left off. No repetition. No starting from scratch.

Leads stay separate from customers

Every web chat enquiry will be captured as a lead — separate from your paying customer accounts. When the sale is made, your team will convert the lead in one click.

Hands off to your team when needed

When a visitor asks to speak with someone, the AI will book a callback slot from your live calendar. It will not pretend to be a person or delay handing over when that is what the visitor needs.

What will the web chat summary email include (coming soon)?

Coming soon: when a conversation ends, the AI will generate a plain-English summary of what was discussed, what was agreed, and what happens next. It will email this to the visitor — in your brand voice, from your email address — after the chat closes.

Example summary email

Your conversation with Isabella Bathrooms

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for chatting with us today. Here’s a summary of what we covered:

  • You’re looking to refit your main bathroom — approximately 3m × 2.5m
  • Interested in a freestanding bath and walk-in shower
  • Budget not yet fixed — happy to discuss options at showroom

What happens next: One of our team will call you on Tuesday morning to arrange a showroom visit. Bring your room measurements if you have them.

Set once. Enforced on every conversation.

When web chat launches, you will configure a single pricing rule for your business. For bespoke-quote trades — bathroom fitting, kitchen installation, roofing, extensions — you set it to “never quote”. From that moment, no visitor will receive a price from the AI, no matter how many times they ask or how they phrase the question.

Bespoke-quote businesses

Set to “never quote”. Every price question will be deflected to a survey, showroom visit, or booked callback. No figure will leave the system.

Fixed-fee businesses

You will configure exactly which prices to disclose — call-out fees, service menus, session rates — and which to deflect to a conversation.

What do people ask about IBIOS web chat (coming soon)?

Does the AI send a summary to every visitor?

When it launches, yes. When a conversation ends — whether the visitor closes the window, goes idle, or is handed to a team member — the AI will generate a summary of what was discussed and email it to the visitor. Visitors who provided an email address during the chat will receive it automatically.

How does it know not to quote prices?

When it launches, you will configure a pricing rule in your settings once — bathroom, kitchen, and bespoke-quote businesses set it to “none” and the AI will never mention a figure. Businesses with productised pricing (fixed call-out fees, service menus) will be able to configure exactly which prices to disclose and which to deflect.

Will it mix up leads and customers?

No. When it launches, web chat enquiries will be stored as leads — completely separate from your customer accounts. Converting a lead to a customer will be a deliberate action by your team, not something the AI does automatically.

Can it book a consultation or callback?

When it launches, yes. When a visitor asks to speak to someone, the AI will check live calendar availability and book a callback slot. The visitor will get a confirmation, and your team will see it in the dashboard.

What happens if the visitor doesn't give their email?

When it launches, the conversation will still be captured and visible in your leads dashboard. You won't be able to send the summary email, but the chat history and any details shared will be saved for your team to follow up.
