Anti-hallucination AI that knows your business.
IBIOS anti-hallucination AI answers from your own records and admits when it does not know. Live today in Ask IBIOS: typed questions answered with the sources shown, “I can’t see that” instead of a guess, and facts your team confirms kept for next time.
Coming soon: the IBIOS AI receptionist will use the same approach on phone calls. It is not live yet, and the call sections below describe how it is planned to work: answers from live data, confidence checks, and a handoff to your team when it is unsure.
What does anti-hallucination AI that knows your business do today?
- Answers typed questions from your own IBIOS records, such as customers, quotes, orders and stock, not from general internet knowledge.
- Shows the sources behind each answer, so you can open the record and check it.
- Says “I can’t see that” when the information is not in IBIOS, instead of filling the gap with a plausible guess.
- Learns facts your team confirms, and holds back anything not yet verified.
No AI is right every time, which is why sources matter: an answer you can check is an answer you can act on. Anti-hallucination is part of the IBIOS AI Brain; read more about how IBIOS uses AI on the AI platform page.
The problem every AI receptionist creates — unless you solve it
A customer calls your showroom. Your AI confidently tells them the Carron Quantum bath is a set price including fitting and available for delivery next Thursday. The customer drives in expecting that price and that date.
Your team has to explain the AI got the price wrong, the fitting is quoted separately, and next Thursday is already full. The customer leaves. The trust is gone.
Most AI assistants are trained to be helpful, which means they answer confidently even when they should not. IBIOS is designed differently: when certainty cannot be established from live data, the AI says so. When the AI receptionist launches (coming soon), it will route the caller to someone who can answer correctly.
Coming soon: how will anti-hallucination work on calls?
Anti-hallucination is not a single setting — it is built into how the AI processes every request, from first ambiguity check through to voiced response.
Asks rather than guesses
When a caller’s request is ambiguous, the AI asks a focused clarifying question before retrieving any data. A vague request matched to the wrong customer record or the wrong product would produce a confident but wrong answer. Asking one question first is designed to prevent that.
Confidence-scored responses
Every factual claim the AI makes — price, availability, appointment slot, product specification — carries an internal certainty score. Responses below the threshold are intercepted before they reach the caller.
Source-grounded facts
The AI only quotes figures and dates it has retrieved from your live IBIOS data in the current session. It does not draw on training-data assumptions, cached website content, or remembered values from previous calls.
Graceful uncertainty
“I’m not certain of that — let me get someone who can confirm” is a first-class response in IBIOS. The system is trained to treat honest uncertainty as better customer service than a confident wrong answer.
Coming soon: what graceful uncertainty will sound like to a caller
When the AI receptionist launches (coming soon) and confidence scoring flags a response, it will redirect in a way that feels natural and keeps the caller’s trust.
Pricing uncertainty — example response
“I want to make sure I give you the right figure on that one — our pricing can vary depending on specification. Can I get a team member to confirm and call you back?”
Availability uncertainty — example response
“I can see that product in our catalogue but I am not able to confirm the exact delivery date from what I have here. I would rather get you an accurate answer than give you a date I am not certain about — shall I have someone from the team give you a call?”
Who does AI hallucination matter most for?
Any business where a wrong answer from AI creates a real-world problem.
Bathroom showrooms
A wrong price quoted by an AI creates an expectation your team then has to unpick in person. Coming soon on calls: confidence scoring will catch pricing uncertainty before it reaches the caller.
Tile retailers
Availability changes constantly for tile batches. Ask IBIOS answers stock questions from your live records today; the AI receptionist (coming soon) will read live stock before answering a caller.
Kitchen and bathroom trade
Appointment scheduling errors are costly when installers travel. The AI receptionist (coming soon) is being built to offer only slots it can see in the live calendar.
Any business with phone-first sales
The first wrong answer an AI gives a prospect can end the relationship. Anti-hallucination protection checks answers against your records, so a guessed answer does not cost you the lead.
Coming soon: one of three trust layers
Anti-hallucination is designed to stop the AI inventing facts. On its own it is not enough, so the AI Receptionist (coming soon) is being built on three layers, each covering a different way an AI can let you down.
Layer 1: checks before answering
Anti-hallucination
Answers only from verified data in your IBIOS records. If it does not know, it says so and offers a callback.
Layer 2: never reveals
Trade-secret protection
Cost prices, supplier discounts, staff schedules and pricing strategy stay inside IBIOS. Callers only get what they are entitled to.
Layer 3: never manipulated
Social engineering defence
Recognises impersonation, urgency pressure and repeated rephrasing of a refused request, and holds its position politely.
Technical specifications (planned)
Confidence scoring
Applied to every factual claim before the response is voiced. Threshold is configurable per response type.
Data grounding
Live IBIOS ERP data — product catalogue, pricing, stock levels, calendar, job records. No training-data assumptions.
Uncertainty handling
Responses below confidence threshold trigger a graceful handoff or callback offer. Uncertainty is flagged, not hidden.
Staff dashboard
Every low-confidence response logged with caller query, response text, and confidence flag reason.
Handoff options
Configurable per scenario: live transfer to staff member, callback within N minutes, or take a message.
Audit trail
Full log of all AI responses including confidence scores. Searchable by date, caller, and query type.
Questions about anti-hallucination AI
Is IBIOS anti-hallucination AI available now?
Yes, in Ask IBIOS. Typed questions are answered from your own IBIOS records with the sources shown; when it cannot see something, it says "I can’t see that" instead of guessing; and it learns facts your team confirms. The AI receptionist that will use the same approach on phone calls is coming soon.
Does anti-hallucination mean the AI is always right?
No. No AI is right every time. Anti-hallucination means the AI answers from your records, shows its sources so you can check them, and admits a gap instead of filling it with a guess. Check the source behind any answer before you act on it.
Can the AI receptionist give wrong prices?
The AI receptionist is coming soon. It is designed to read live pricing directly from your IBIOS product catalogue before every response. It does not draw on training-data assumptions or cached snapshots. If a price cannot be verified with sufficient confidence, the system flags the response for human review rather than quoting a figure it is not certain of.
What happens when the AI doesn’t know something?
It says so. In Ask IBIOS today, it tells you it cannot see that rather than guessing. When the AI receptionist launches (coming soon), it will tell the caller honestly and offer a callback from your team, and the call will be flagged for follow-up.
Does the AI make up availability dates?
It is being built not to. When the AI receptionist launches (coming soon), appointment slots and delivery estimates will be read from the live IBIOS calendar and supplier order data before being given to the caller. If the data is unavailable or ambiguous, it will offer a callback rather than invent a date.
How is this different from other AI assistants?
Most general-purpose AI assistants are trained to be helpful, which means they tend to answer confidently even when they are uncertain. The planned IBIOS AI Receptionist (coming soon) will apply a confidence score to every factual claim before voicing it. Responses that fall below the confidence threshold are intercepted and redirected to a human — not delivered with misplaced certainty.
Can I see what the AI was uncertain about?
When it launches, yes. Every low-confidence response will be logged in your IBIOS staff dashboard with the caller query, the response delivered, and the reason for the confidence flag. This gives your team a clear audit trail of every handoff and makes it straightforward to improve your product data or escalation rules over time.
If the AI is accurate, is that not enough?
No. Accuracy is only the first layer. An accurate AI can still reveal things it should not (cost prices, staff schedules, other customers’ details) to a caller who asks the right way, and it can still be pressured into actions it should not take. That is why the AI Receptionist (coming soon) is being built with trade-secret protection and social engineering defence alongside anti-hallucination.
Which IBIOS product line includes anti-hallucination AI?
