Coming soon: talk to customers, suppliers and staff worldwide, each in their own language
IBIOS Meet with live translation is coming soon and is not live yet. It is the idea IBIOS began with: two-way speech translation, so a French speaker is heard in German or English and the reply comes back in French. Meeting reports will land in IBIOS in English on the right customer, supplier, job or quote record. Call reports from the recordings your phone provider already makes are live in IBIOS today.
Coming soon. Early access by waiting list.
Where will real-time translation fit in IBIOS?
Live translation is coming soon to IBIOS Meet. Translated meetings will sit alongside the call reports and briefings IBIOS already writes from your phone recordings, on the same customer and supplier records (CRM). For helping someone on their own screen, see IBIOS Assist remote support (coming soon), and for real scenarios, browse IBIOS use cases.

Live translation for business calls: what to check before you rely on it
Written by the IBIOS team. IBIOS was built inside a working bathroom showroom in Northern Ireland, where it runs the business day to day. Last updated 18 October 2026.
How do you choose live translation for business calls?
Decide where the conversation needs to end up first, then who you talk to across languages, then how you will confirm the details that matter, and only then which meeting tool to use. IBIOS Meet with live translation is coming soon; this guide explains what to look for in any tool, and what IBIOS Meet is being built to do.
- Where the record lives. A translated call is only useful later if you can find it. IBIOS Meet, coming soon, is being built to put the meeting report on the right customer, supplier, job or quote, with the original transcript kept as the source of truth.
- Who you talk to. List the customers, overseas suppliers and staff you speak to in another language, and how often. That tells you whether you need occasional help or translation built into everyday calls.
- Your own words. Check how a tool handles your product names and trade terms. IBIOS Meet, coming soon, is planned to use a product glossary so your own names and terms are translated the same way every time.
- What must be confirmed in writing. Prices, measurements, delivery dates and contract terms should always be confirmed in writing, whatever translation you use.
- What you can use today. Call reports and call briefings from the recordings your phone provider already makes are live in IBIOS now, alongside the customer record, jobs and quotes.
What will IBIOS Meet with live translation do?
Coming soon: IBIOS Meet will run video meetings and calls inside IBIOS with two-way speech translation. A French speaker will be heard in German or English, and the reply will come back in French. This is the idea IBIOS began with, and it is not live yet.
When it launches, the meeting report will land in IBIOS on the right customer, supplier, job or quote record in the IBIOS CRM, alongside the call reports IBIOS already writes from your phone recordings today.
What are the planned stages of live translation?
Live translation is planned in stages, and all of them are coming soon. None of them is live yet:
- Live captions: each person reads what is being said as it is said.
- Then translated captions: each person reads the other in their own language.
- Then translated voice: each person hears the other in their own language.
Where will meeting reports and recaps go?
Coming soon: meeting reports will land in IBIOS in English, on the right customer, supplier, job or quote record, so anyone in your team can read what was agreed.
Recaps can also be sent to each participant in their own language, and a person approves each recap before it goes. The original transcript stays as the source of truth, so if a translation is ever questioned, you can go back to what was actually said.
How will IBIOS keep your product names and terms consistent?
Coming soon: a product glossary will hold your own product names and trade terms, so they are translated consistently on every call instead of being guessed afresh each time.
Speech recognition is planned to be based on Whisper, the open speech model from OpenAI, run by IBIOS through a provider or on its own hardware.
How will live translation help with overseas supplier calls?
Coming soon: a buyer will be able to talk to an overseas supplier with each side following the conversation in their own language. The meeting report will be saved on the supplier record, so what was agreed about specifications, lead times and shipping is easy to find later.
Live translation will not replace a written order: confirm quantities, prices and dates in writing as you do now.
Can customer service work across languages?
Coming soon: when a customer is more comfortable in another language, staff will be able to take the call in IBIOS Meet with live translation and keep the report on the customer record. The next person to pick up the job will see what was said without asking the customer to repeat it.
Customer service is also covered by IBIOS Assist remote support, coming soon, for when a customer needs help on their own screen.
How will sales demos work for buyers who speak another language?
Coming soon: a salesperson will be able to run a demo or a design consultation with a buyer in their own language, with the meeting report attached to the quote and a recap the buyer can read in their own language. When the buyer comes back with questions, the team will have the full conversation on the record.
Can HR conversations happen in each person’s own language?
Coming soon: managers will be able to hold one-to-ones and welcome calls with staff who are more comfortable in another language. Consent is required before any HR conversation is recorded or transcribed, and IBIOS does not score staff.
Live translation will help everyone understand; anything formal, such as a contract change or a disciplinary matter, should still be put in writing and, where needed, checked by a qualified person.
How will training work for staff in different languages?
Coming soon: a trainer will be able to run one session that each person follows in their own language, with a recap to refer back to afterwards. That suits teams where installers, warehouse staff or office staff do not share a first language.
Can agencies and advisers talk to clients in other countries?
Coming soon: marketing agencies, bookkeepers and other firms that support clients abroad will be able to hold client meetings in each person’s own language, with the meeting kept on that client’s record. Agencies that also need to see a client’s screen can use IBIOS Assist, also coming soon. Read more scenarios on IBIOS use cases.
General meeting tools, an interpreter, or IBIOS Meet?
Google Meet offers speech translation on some Google Workspace business plans. Microsoft Teams offers an interpreter for speech translation in meetings and some calls, in some languages. Zoom offers translated captions on some plans or with an add-on. The sources are listed below this guide. The question for a business is where the conversation ends up afterwards.
| Option | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| General meeting tools (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) | Businesses that already use one of them and need translation on some calls. | Translation features vary by vendor, plan and language, so check the vendor’s current help pages. Notes and transcripts sit in the meeting tool, so someone has to copy them to the customer or supplier record. |
| A human interpreter | Legal, medical or high-value conversations where every word matters. | Has to be booked in advance and paid for each time, so it does not suit everyday supplier and customer calls. |
| A translation app on a phone | A quick, one-off exchange. | Nothing is saved to the business record, and it is awkward on a video call. |
| IBIOS Meet with live translation (coming soon) | Businesses that want translation plus the business record: reports on the customer, supplier, job or quote, a product glossary for their own terms, and recaps in each person’s own language. | Coming soon, not live yet: early access by waiting list. Confirm prices, dates and terms in writing, as with any translation. |
What you need in place before you start
- A list of the customers, suppliers and staff you talk to in another language.
- Your customer and supplier records in one place, so conversations have somewhere to land.
- A list of your product names and trade terms, ready for the glossary.
- A habit of confirming prices, dates and terms in writing after any call.
- A short notice telling people when a call is recorded or transcribed and why, and their consent where it is needed.
What it costs
IBIOS Meet with live translation is coming soon and is being built into IBIOS rather than sold as a separate meeting tool. The hidden costs today are interpreters booked for routine calls, notes copied by hand from one app to another, and mistakes from conversations nobody can find later.
Founding prices for waiting-list members are explained on the pricing page.
Last reviewed October 2026.
What people get wrong
- Treating a translated call as a written agreement instead of confirming the details in writing.
- Keeping meeting notes in the meeting tool, where nobody looking at the customer or supplier record will see them.
- Sending a translated recap without anyone checking it first.
- Recording or transcribing a call without telling the other person.
- Using live translation for legal or formal matters that need a qualified interpreter.
- Believing a demo of a "coming next month" feature. Ask what runs in a working business today.

Live translation for business calls FAQs
Is IBIOS real-time translation available now?
No. IBIOS Meet with real-time translation is coming soon, and none of its planned stages (live captions, then translated captions, then translated voice) is live yet. Call reports and call briefings from the recordings your phone provider already makes are live in IBIOS today.
How is this different from Google Meet, Teams or Zoom translation?
The difference is translation plus the business record. Google Meet offers speech translation on some Workspace business plans, Microsoft Teams offers an interpreter in some languages, and Zoom offers translated captions on some plans or with an add-on. IBIOS Meet, coming soon, will put the meeting report on the customer, supplier, job or quote record, use a product glossary for your own terms, and send recaps in each person’s own language.
Which languages will IBIOS Meet translate?
We will publish the supported languages when IBIOS Meet launches. Tell us which languages you need when you join the waiting list.
Will the meeting be saved to the customer record?
Yes, that is how it is being built. When it launches, the meeting report will land in IBIOS in English on the right customer, supplier, job or quote, and the original transcript will stay as the source of truth.
Can each participant get a recap in their own language?
Yes, that is the plan. When it launches, recaps can be sent to each participant in their own language, and a person approves each recap before it goes.
Can I rely on live translation for prices and contract terms?
No. Use live translation to understand each other, then confirm prices, dates and terms in writing, and use a qualified interpreter for legal or formal matters.
